Do you want to be part of a team? Do you want to be a leader? Do you want to be active in your community? Are you at least 17 years old and ready to join the fire service?

The Independent Fire Company is one of four companies that make up the Mount Kisco Fire Department. The Department consists of two engine companies, a ladder company, and a rescue company. The Independent Fire Company, an engine company, consists of over sixty members. The Mount Kisco Fire Department is a 100% volunteer organization.

You will find that participation in the Independent Fire Company will bring personal rewards and satisfaction, raise self-esteem, and provide you with a tremendous sense of accomplishment and pride for a job well done. It will also provide your community with a valuable service, a service that needs you now more than ever.

Being a member of the Independent Fire Company requires a serious commitment. We recommended that you stop by our firehouse and discuss this commitment with the members of our Company that have been doing the job for years. Feel free to stop by the firehouse, chat with our members, and even watch us in action during one of our drills. Making the decision to become a volunteer firefighter will open new doors for you, will help foster new friendships, and provide you with challenges and rewards that can only be understood and appreciated by your brother firefighters.
