The Independent Fire Co. recently took delivery of a 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe Chief's vehicle. This vehicle takes the place of a 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe. Once the new car was put in service, the old car was considered surplus, and it was put up for sale. 3rd Alarm In Chappaqua

On Wednesday June 28th Chappaqua FD was dispatched to a reported structure fire on LeRoy Road. On arrival the 1075 was transmitted (working fire) flames from the roof. PFD E-91 was on the original dispatch, they made the 5" hose lay up to CFD TL-27 and supplied multiple attack lines. The fire quickly went to a 2nd alarm bringing E-105 to the scene. On Monday June 12th at approximately 12:30 PM 60 Control dispatched E-105 & R-31 to the area of route 128 cross street of Sheather Road. This dispatch was for a reported rollover no injuries, with reported fluid spill. E-105 arrived on location to find a rolled over triaxle dump truck fully loaded. Background:

The Independent Fire Company is an all-volunteer fire company with approximately 65 members. The company is one of four that make up the Mount Kisco Volunteer Fire Department. The other three companies are the Union Hook & Ladder Co #1, the Mutual Engine & Hose Co #1 and the Mount Kisco Rescue & Fire Police.
 
The Mount Kisco Volunteer Fire Department covers approximately 3 square miles, half of which in the Town / Village of Mount Kisco proper, and the other half is made up of sections of the Town of New Castle and the Town of Bedford. The M.K.F.D. protects a population of approximately 18,000 people.
