IFCO Members honored at Yankee Game

Ex-Captain Peter Hughes, Jr., August 16

On Saturday, August 8, 2015, at the Hughes Family Reunion in Yankee Stadium, Paul & Pete Hughes, Bill Stewart and their cousin Jack Hughes were honored by the New York Yankees for serving their country in the Military. Fatal Fire On Main Street

On Wednesday Morning 8/12 6:02 AM 60 Control dispatched MKFD E-104,105 TL-14 R-15 for reported structure fire 540 Main Street. Upon arrival Car 2284 transmitted 1075 added to the assignment E-103,106 R-31 R-10 FAST. Working Fire Riverwoods Condos

On August 3rd at 12:16 PM MKFD was dispatched to a reported house at 70 Burr farms road in the Riverwoods Condos. Upon arrival 1075 was transmitted for a working fire in the garage. The second line was stretched to the floor above, Fire was extinguished due to extension. BHFD FAST team responded to the scene and Chappaqua E-146 and Pleasantville TL-5 relocated to Green Street Station #1.

2015 MKFD Parade

On Friday July 10th we hosted our annual parade. It was once again to have our 50&60 year members in attendance. The officers and members worked numerous hours cleaning and polishing the firehouse and apparatus. Background:

The Independent Fire Company is an all-volunteer fire company with approximately 65 members. The company is one of four that make up the Mount Kisco Volunteer Fire Department. The other three companies are the Union Hook & Ladder Co #1, the Mutual Engine & Hose Co #1 and the Mount Kisco Rescue & Fire Police.
 
The Mount Kisco Volunteer Fire Department covers approximately 3 square miles, half of which in the Town / Village of Mount Kisco proper, and the other half is made up of sections of the Town of New Castle and the Town of Bedford. The M.K.F.D. protects a population of approximately 18,000 people.
