Hughes Twins Honored for Military Service

Ex-Captain Peter Hughes, Jr., November 28

On Thursday, November 17, 2016, Senator Terrence P. Murphy held the 2016 Veterans’ Hall of Fame Ceremony to honor 17 War Veterans in the Westchester, Putnam and Dutchess Counties. The ceremony was held at the American Legion in Mount Kisco.

Mutual Response Bedford Hills 2nd Time This Week

Last Sunday November 6th E-105 and U-13 were dispatched for a large area brush fire. The fire at 300 So. Bedford road involved wood piles and leaves on the ground. High winds and extremely dry conditions lead to rapid extension of the fire area. Engine 105 was located on a hydrant filling tankers. Utility 13 went to the scene with manpower. Members Conduct 2nd Hose Test On E-105

On Monday October 24th, The Company conducted our annual hose test on the 2nd Engine E-105 The hose test was completed at Radio Circle Drive. All was in good order and twenty four members attended. Background:

The Independent Fire Company is an all-volunteer fire company with approximately 65 members. The company is one of four that make up the Mount Kisco Volunteer Fire Department. The other three companies are the Union Hook & Ladder Co #1, the Mutual Engine & Hose Co #1 and the Mount Kisco Rescue & Fire Police.
 
The Mount Kisco Volunteer Fire Department covers approximately 3 square miles, half of which in the Town / Village of Mount Kisco proper, and the other half is made up of sections of the Town of New Castle and the Town of Bedford. The M.K.F.D. protects a population of approximately 18,000 people.
