Large Tree across Route 128

Chimney Fire Sparks 2nd Alarm Fire
Independent Fire Co. #13, November 04
.. On November 3rd @ 7:53pm the Mt. Kisco Fire Department was dispatched to a reported chimney fire in The Chase Complex off South Bedford Road. First arriving Chief transmitted the 10-75, shortly after the 2nd alarm was transmitted. Mutual-aid from surrounding towns assisted with extinguishing the fire. No injuries to civilians or firefighters were reported. MKFD units cleared the scene at 10:45pm

Background:
The Independent Fire Company is an all-volunteer fire company with approximately 65 members. The company is one of four that make up the Mount Kisco Volunteer Fire Department. The other three companies are the Union Hook & Ladder Co #1, the Mutual Engine & Hose Co #1 and the Mount Kisco Rescue & Fire Police.
The Mount Kisco Volunteer Fire Department covers approximately 3 square miles, half of which in the Town / Village of Mount Kisco proper, and the other half is made up of sections of the Town of New Castle and the Town of Bedford. The M.K.F.D. protects a population of approximately 18,000 people.
